This Portugal Getaways package includes round-trip flights, the flight from Madeira to Lisbon, airport transfers in Madeira and in Lisbon and hotels. The trip is 7 nights: 3 nights in Funchal, Madeira's capital, and 4 nights in Lisbon. Tours, a rental car and meals are not included, but the Portugal Getaways team can add them when you book.

Other departure cities are available on request: contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking to discuss departure options. Checked luggage is not always included and depends on the airline and fare type; confirm what is included and add luggage during the booking process. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

The flight from Funchal to Lisbon is included and takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. An airport transfer takes you from your hotel in Funchal to Madeira Airport, and another one meets you in Lisbon and takes you to your hotel, so you do not need to plan anything for that day.

You stay in 3 to 5-star hotels: in Funchal, most are in or near the center and the waterfront, and in Lisbon, most are in central areas such as the Baixa, Chiado and Avenida da Liberdade, with one option in Belém. The package price depends on the accommodation selected. You can see the hotel options when you choose your dates in the booking calendar, and the Portugal Getaways team can help with room upgrades on request.

Daily breakfast is not included by default, but it can be added during the booking process if available, or you can contact the Portugal Getaways team to prioritize it. Lunches and dinners are not included, which leaves you free to try local restaurants in Funchal and Lisbon.

No. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at each hotel, at check-in or check-out. The amount depends on the city and the hotel, and the hotel reception can tell you the exact value.

No. Airport transfers are included in Madeira and in Lisbon. Central Funchal is easy to walk, and in Lisbon the metro, trams and taxis cover the city, with ride-sharing apps also available. To explore Madeira's coast and mountains, the Portugal Getaways team can add a rental car or guided day tours with hotel pick-up. Most rental cars are manual; automatic cars are also available and should be requested in advance.

Tours are not included, so you can plan each day your way. In Madeira, ride the cable car to Monte, see the sea cliffs at Cabo Girão and walk the coastal path at Ponta de São Lourenço. In Lisbon, visit Belém and the Jerónimos Monastery, walk up to São Jorge Castle and take the train to the palaces of Sintra. The Portugal Getaways team can book guided tours and a fado dinner before you travel.

Both places are mild most of the year. Madeira stays between about 19°C and 25°C (66°F to 77°F) through the year, with more rain from November to March. Lisbon is warm and dry in summer, around 28°C (82°F), and mild in winter, around 15°C (59°F). Spring and autumn are the most comfortable for walking in both, and bring a light jacket for Madeira's mountains in any season.

Yes. The Portugal Getaways team can add nights in Funchal or Lisbon, or add another region after Lisbon, such as Porto or the Algarve, which are about 3 hours away by train. Extra nights depend on flight and hotel availability, and the price is updated before you confirm.

Portugal, including Madeira, is part of the Schengen Area and is a safe destination with low crime. U.S. and Canadian passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory; when it starts, we will let you know in advance.

The land portion is refundable up to 14 days before travel and non-refundable after that. Airfare is non-refundable once issued. A $75 per person administration fee applies to any cancellation, and a no-show loses all services. If a listed hotel is not available, a hotel of the same category is booked instead. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
