The Portugal Getaways Algarve 2-Weeks with Car package includes round-trip flights, 14 nights at Pinhal da Marina in Vilamoura, with a kitchenette in every unit, a rental car for the full duration of your stay, and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Breakfast, meals, guided tours, and city taxes are not included. Parking is included at Pinhal da Marina, and it is free for guests. 

Your stay is at Pinhal da Marina, a set of spacious studios and apartments in a quiet, garden-filled area of Vilamoura. Every unit includes a kitchenette with a hob, microwave, fridge, and basic cooking equipment. The Algarve has excellent local markets and supermarkets, making self-catering straightforward and affordable. The property is not directly on the beach or marina, both are about a 15 to 20-minute walk away. The package price varies depending on the property selected. Exact options are shown when you click a date in the booking calendar and proceed to the next step. Contact the Portugal Getaways team to discuss preferences before booking.

A rental car is included for all 14 nights. The standard vehicle is a compact manual car. Automatic transmission is available on request at an additional cost. You will need a valid Canadian or US passport and driver's license at pickup. The rental includes basic third-party liability insurance. A collision damage waiver (CDW) may already be included depending on the rental company. Even with CDW, most rentals have a mandatory excess. We always recommend upgrading to the highest insurance level available, which can be arranged through the Portugal Getaways team when booking.

There are no toll roads within the Algarve region. Tolls apply if you drive outside the region, for example to Seville or toward Lisbon. Most rental cars include a toll device that charges automatically. Before your trip, the Portugal Getaways team will send you a travel checklist with a tolls calculator from Via Verde. 

Parking is included and free during your stay in Pinhal da Marina.

Yes, round-trip flights are included. The package price varies depending on your departure airport. Other departure cities are available on request. Checked luggage is not always included and depends on the airline and fare type. For a 14-night stay you will likely need checked luggage. You can confirm what is included and add luggage during the booking process. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

Breakfast is not included by default and is available at Pin Mar Restaurant for an additional charge. Contact the Portugal Getaways team if you'd like this added. 

City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the hotel. Under current Portuguese law, city taxes are charged for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights, so you will not pay city taxes for the full 14 nights. 

No. All activities are optional and at additional cost. Popular add-ons include boat tours to Ponta da Piedade and Benagil, dolphin watching in Lagos, a Seville full-day tour, jeep tours with wine tasting, and Ria Formosa boat trips. Tours can be added during the booking process or by contacting the Portugal Getaways team directly.

Yes. A Seville full-day guided bus tour can be added directly when you book. For Tangier in Morocco, the Portugal Getaways team can also help arrange the logistics. 

Yes to both. The Portugal Getaways team can add nights in Lisbon, Porto, or Madeira before or after your Algarve stay, or extend the 14 nights further depending on availability. Contact the team with your preferred dates and we will put together an adjusted itinerary. Additional costs apply.

Yes. One property for the full 14 nights, a kitchenette for daily independence, and a rental car for flexibility. The Algarve averages 16°C to 18°C (61°F to 64°F) in winter, has reliable internet coverage, and is significantly quieter and more affordable than in summer. Whether you are escaping winter, working remotely, or simply taking two weeks at your own pace, the setup works for all three.

The long-stay format suits autumn and winter particularly well. Autumn (October to November) stays warm at around 20°C to 24°C (68°F to 75°F), quieter than summer. Winter (December to February) averages 16°C to 18°C (61°F to 64°F), with far fewer tourists and lower prices. Spring (March to May) brings wildflowers and warming temperatures around 20°C (68°F). Summer (June to August) reaches 30°C (86°F), ideal for beaches but the busiest and most expensive period.

This package is based at Pinhal da Marina in Vilamoura, on the central Algarve coast, close to both resort towns like Albufeira and quieter areas further west. If you'd prefer a different base, for example closer to Lagos and Sagres in the west, or Tavira in the east, contact the Portugal Getaways team, we can check availability at a different property. Yes. The Portugal Getaways team can arrange a split stay with one property change during the 14 nights, for example part of the trip at Pinhal da Marina in Vilamoura and part at a property further west or east along the coast. Contact the team before booking and we will check availability and adjust the itinerary. Additional costs may apply.

Faro Airport is about 14 miles (22km), typically a 25 to 35-minute drive. Vilamoura Marina and the beach are about a 15 to 20-minute walk, the property is not directly on the beach or marina. A rental car is useful for exploring other beaches and towns across the Algarve.

No, pets are not permitted, with the exception of service animals.

Public transport is unreliable for reaching beaches and smaller villages. This is why a rental car is included in this package, most of the itinerary's highlights, like Benagil, Ponta da Piedade, and Cabo de São Vicente, are only practical to reach by car.

The package price is based on two travelers sharing a room. Solo travelers pay a single supplement. You can check solo pricing by changing the number of guests from 2 to 1 in the booking calendar before clicking See Dates and Prices.

The Algarve is part of Portugal, consistently ranked as one of the safest countries in Europe for travelers, with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere. Canadian and US passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory. When it launches, we will contact you in advance.

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued, but the Portugal Getaways team will always check with the airline to explore options.
