The Portugal Getaways Algarve Cultural Highlights Tour package includes round-trip flights, 6 nights of hotel accommodation in the Albufeira area, airport transfers on arrival and departure, 3 included experiences (Lagos & Sagres full-day tour, Dolphins & Benagil Caves catamaran boat tour, and a Seville full-day sightseeing tour), and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Rental car, meals, and city taxes are not included.

Yes, round-trip flights are included. The package price varies depending on your departure airport. Other departure cities are available on request. Contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking to discuss departure options. Checked luggage is not always included and depends on the airline and fare type. Confirm what is included and add luggage during the booking process. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

• Lagos & Sagres Full-Day Tour, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Covers the Church of St. Anthony and Ponta da Piedade in Lagos, the fishing port and fortress in Sagres, and Cabo de São Vicente, by coach and on foot. Pickup from Albufeira hotels is included. Lunch not included.
• Dolphins & Benagil Caves Catamaran, about 2 hours 30 minutes, with departures at 11:45 AM, 2:15 PM or 4:45 PM. Dolphin watching followed by the Benagil sea caves by boat. Transfers from Albufeira hotels are included.
• Seville Full-Day Tour, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Full day in Seville by coach. Pickup from Albufeira hotels is included.

The Lagos & Sagres tour is by coach and on foot. You travel by road to Lagos and Sagres, with stops at Ponta da Piedade to walk the clifftop paths and viewpoints, and at Cabo de Sao Vicente at the edge of the Atlantic. This is not a boat tour. If you want to see Ponta da Piedade from the water, a separate boat excursion can be arranged as an optional add-on. Contact the Portugal Getaways team when booking.

The Benagil Cave is viewed from inside the catamaran as it passes through. Whether you can swim ashore or enter on foot depends on sea conditions and the tour operator's policy on the day. In calm conditions, some tours allow passengers to swim to the beach inside the cave. The guide will advise on the day. What is guaranteed is a close view of the cave from the water and the dramatic coastline around it.

The Algarve coast has Atlantic exposure and conditions vary by season and weather. The catamaran is more stable than a rigid inflatable boat but the open sea between Albufeira and Benagil can have some swell, particularly in spring and autumn. If you are prone to motion sickness, take medication before the tour as a precaution. Contact the Portugal Getaways team and we can advise on the calmest departure time available.

Yes. If you prefer to drive yourself to Seville rather than take the coach, a rental car can be added to the package. Seville is approximately 2 hours from Albufeira by car via the A22 and Spanish motorways. Tolls apply on the Spanish side. Driving gives you more flexibility to spend time at your own pace and return when you choose. Contact the Portugal Getaways team when booking, and we will arrange the rental car and remove the included Seville tour from your itinerary if preferred.

The Lagos & Sagres tour involves walking on clifftop paths at Ponta da Piedade, which includes steps and uneven terrain. The Benagil catamaran tour requires boarding and disembarking a boat. The Seville tour involves significant walking through the city. None of the tours are classified as strenuous, but all require a basic level of mobility. If you have specific concerns, contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking, and we will confirm suitability or suggest alternatives.

All 3 tours are guided and include pickup and drop-off from the Albufeira hotels featured in this package. These are larger group tours: the Lagos & Sagres and Seville tours travel by coach, and the Benagil tour operates from a catamaran. If your hotel is not in the Albufeira area covered by the tour pickup, contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking, and we will confirm whether pickup can be arranged or advise on the nearest meeting point.

The tours in this package run in larger group formats, which is part of what makes them enjoyable. The Lagos and Sagres and Seville tours run in groups of up to 51 people, and the catamaran takes up to 78 people. These are not private or small-group tours. If you prefer a private experience, contact the Portugal Getaways team, and we can arrange alternatives at an additional cost.

The package includes 4-star hotels in the Albufeira area, all close to the beach. 5-star options are available as upgrades. 4-star options include adults-only properties and beach hotels in the Falésia and São Rafael areas. Falésia beach is one of the longest in the Algarve, backed by ochre cliffs. The package price varies depending on the hotel selected. Exact options are shown when you click a date in the booking calendar.

Breakfast is not included by default but can be added during the booking process. If you would like to prioritize a property with complimentary breakfast before booking, contact the Portugal Getaways team in advance, and we will do our best to arrange it. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the hotel

A rental car is not included in this package. The 3 included tours cover the main highlights with coach and boat transfers from your Albufeira hotel. For free days, Albufeira old town and the marina are walkable. For further exploration on the free days, a rental car can be added during the booking process. Uber® has limited availability outside main resort towns in the Algarve. Contact the Portugal Getaways team when booking and we will arrange a car if needed.

No. The A22 Via do Infante, the main motorway running the length of the Algarve, is free to use. Tolls apply on the A2 motorway from Lisbon to the Algarve if you are arriving from the north, and on the Spanish side of the road for the Seville day trip. Toll costs for routes outside the Algarve are not included in the package price.

Yes to both. A guided Tangier day trip from the Algarve can be arranged as an optional add-on. Tangier is reachable by ferry from Tarifa in Spain, approximately 2 hours 30 minutes from Albufeira by car plus the 35-minute ferry crossing. The Portugal Getaways team can also build a combined itinerary that adds nights in Lisbon, Porto, or Madeira. Contact the team with your preferred dates and we will put together a tailored proposal.

Spring (April to June) offers temperatures of 18°C to 24°C (64°F to 75°F), fewer crowds, and good conditions for the included tours and coastal walks. Summer (July to August) reaches 28°C to 35°C (82°F to 95°F), the peak beach season and the busiest period. Autumn (September to October) stays warm at 22°C to 27°C (72°F to 81°F), the sea is at its warmest, and the crowds thin after mid-September. Winter (November to March) averages 14°C to 18°C (57°F to 64°F), quieter and more affordable, though some beach facilities may have reduced hours.

Yes to all three. The Portugal Getaways team can add nights in the Algarve or include Lisbon, Porto, or Madeira. If you are travelling solo, the package price is based on two travelers sharing a room and a single supplement applies. You can check solo pricing by changing the number of guests from 2 to 1 in the booking calendar before clicking See Dates and Prices. Portugal is a safe and well-visited destination. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for Portugal for stays of up to 90 days. For the Seville day trip, Spain is also part of the Schengen Area and requires no visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory. When it becomes mandatory, the Portugal Getaways team will notify you in advance. 

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended.
