Temperatures stay between 14°C and 20°C (57°F to 68°F), crowds are minimal, prices are lower, and the coast feels like it belongs to you. Spring (April to May) brings wildflowers, warming temperatures around 20°C (68°F), and the start of the beach season. Summer (June to August) reaches 30°C (86°F) and the coast is at its busiest. A month in summer is a different experience, livelier but significantly more expensive.

Yes. Both are popular day trips from the Algarve. Seville is approximately a 2.5-hour drive and can be done independently by car or on a guided bus tour. Tangier in Morocco is reachable by ferry from Tarifa in Spain, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours from the Algarve. Both can be added as optional experiences when you book. If you plan to drive to Spain, note that cross-border fees apply and should be confirmed with the rental company in advance. Portugal is consistently ranked as one of the safest countries in Europe for travelers, with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere. Canadian and US passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Entry requirements are the traveler's responsibility and can change. Check with the relevant embassy or official government website before you travel.
The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued, but the Portugal Getaways team will always check with the airline to explore options. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended, particularly for a month-long stay.
