The Portugal Getaways cruise package includes round-trip flights, 1 hotel night in Lisbon before the cruise, 9 nights aboard the Norwegian Star, 1 hotel night in Barcelona after the cruise (11 nights total), airport and pier transfers throughout, main dining at Aqua, Versailles, and the Garden Café buffet, and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Drinks, gratuities, specialty dining, and shore excursions are not included.

Yes. Round-trip flights are included in the package. Other departure cities are available on the calendar or on request. The package price depends on the selected airport. Contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking to discuss departure options. Seat selection, extra baggage, and cabin class upgrades to premium economy or business class are not included in the package price but can be arranged as paid add-ons before finalizing your booking, subject to availability.

You fly into Lisbon to start the trip and fly home from Barcelona at the end. This is a one-way cruise, not a round trip, and your flights are arranged accordingly with an open-jaw routing. There is no need to return to Lisbon at any point. The Portugal Getaways team confirms all flight arrangements before your departure.

• Day 3 is a full day at sea. 
• Day 4 is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 
• Day 5 is Arrecife in Lanzarote, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 
• Day 6 is Agadir, Morocco, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 
• Day 7 is Casablanca, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. 
• Day 8 is Cadiz, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 
• Day 9 is Motril, the gateway to Granada, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 
• Day 10 is a full day at sea. 
• The ship arrives in Barcelona at 7:00 AM on day 11, where you spend a final hotel night before flying home on day 12.

The pre-cruise night in Lisbon and the post-cruise night in Barcelona are recommended but not mandatory. The Lisbon night is a good way to settle in before boarding and removes the risk of a delayed flight causing you to miss embarkation. The Barcelona night gives you a buffer before flying home and time to see the city after disembarking. If you prefer to skip either night, contact the Portugal Getaways team and we will customize the package accordingly.

Day 2 and day 9 are full days at sea. The Norwegian Star has the Stardust Theatre for Broadway and Vegas-style shows, the Band on the Run tribute show, the Mandara Spa with its adults-only Thermal Suite, a casino, a jogging track, and the Garden Café buffet running throughout the day. Spice H2O, the adults-only outdoor deck, is a popular spot on sea days for travelers without children.

Main dining at Aqua, Versailles, and the Garden Café buffet is included. Specialty restaurants including Cagney's Steakhouse, La Cucina, Le Bistro, Moderno Churrascaria, and Teppanyaki carry an additional cover charge. Drinks, gratuities, Wi-Fi, and spa treatments are not included and can be added during the booking process, pre-booked directly with NCL, or purchased on board. Main theater productions and live shows, including Band on the Run, are included. 

All transfers are included. On arrival, a transfer from Lisbon Airport to your hotel is included. On embarkation day, a transfer from your Lisbon hotel to the cruise terminal is included. On disembarkation in Barcelona, a transfer from the terminal to your Barcelona hotel is included. On departure day, a transfer from your Barcelona hotel to Barcelona Airport is included. No additional transport needs to be arranged independently.

The package includes 4-star hotels as standard with upgrades to 5-star available. In Lisbon, most properties are centrally located in or near the Baixa and Chiado areas, though one option is near Belém, slightly west of the historic center. In Barcelona, some properties are in the city center or near the Sagrada Familia, while others are farther out, near Camp Nou or Vall d'Hebron, and require metro access. The package price varies depending on the hotel selected. Exact options are shown when you click a date in the booking calendar. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for short tourist stays in Morocco of up to 90 days. A valid passport is required to go ashore at both Moroccan ports. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Entry requirements can change and it is the traveler's responsibility to verify current requirements before departure through their government's official travel advisory website.

Portugal and Spain are both part of the Schengen Area. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory. When it becomes mandatory, the Portugal Getaways team will notify you in advance. Entry requirements are the traveler's responsibility and can change.

Yes. Shore excursions are not included in the package and are booked separately, either in advance through the Portugal Getaways team or once on board. Popular options include volcanic landscape tours in Tenerife and Lanzarote, souk and medina tours in Agadir, and a Casablanca city tour including the Hassan II Mosque. From Motril, a full-day excursion to Granada and the Alhambra is one of the most popular shore excursions on this itinerary, given the distance from the port. 

Motril is approximately 70 km (43 mi) from Granada, roughly 1 hour by road. With the ship in port from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, a full-day excursion to Granada and the Alhambra is possible but requires most of the day. Advance tickets to the Alhambra are strongly recommended given how quickly they sell out. A guided excursion is the most practical way to fit this in in given the travel time. Contact the Portugal Getaways team and we can include a Granada and Alhambra tour as an optional add-on.

Breakfast is included throughout the cruise stay. Hotel breakfast in Lisbon and Barcelona is not included by default but can be added during the booking process. Gratuities are not included in the cruise fare and are typically charged automatically to your onboard account per person per day, or can be prepaid before the cruise (available during the booking process).

Interior, oceanview, balcony, and suite cabins are all available on the Norwegian Star. The standard package is based on an interior cabin at the listed price (typically interior). Upgrades to a balcony, oceanview, or suite are available at an additional cost. If you have a preference for cabin position, contact the Portugal Getaways team when booking, and we will provide a quote based on your preference.

Yes to both. The Portugal Getaways team can add extra nights in Lisbon before the cruise or Barcelona after. If you are travelling solo, the cruise fare is based on two travelers sharing a cabin and a single supplement applies. Contact the Portugal Getaways team directly for solo cabin pricing and we will make it easy.

This package operates on a non-refundable fare basis. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended given the non-refundable nature of this fare.
