    Gerês National Park, officially known as Peneda-Gerês National Park, is a hidden gem in northern Portugal that offers stunning natural beauty and diverse landscapes. Located about 1.5 to 2 hours from Porto, it is the only national park in Portugal and spans over 700 square kilometers. The park is renowned for its dramatic mountains, lush forests, crystal-clear rivers, and cascading waterfalls. It is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including ancient oak trees, wild horses, and the elusive Iberian wolf.
