   After settling in, set sail to explore the vibrant town of Horta, the "City of Sailors." For centuries, Horta has served as a vital and strategic stopping point for sailors crossing the vast Atlantic Ocean. This itinerary offers a delightful way to soak up the island's main city's unique charm and rich maritime history on your arrival day.

   • Horta's Historical Streets: Stroll along Horta's cobblestone streets, admiring the colorful facades and traditional architecture. Breathe in the fresh ocean air and marvel at the stunning views of Pico Island, dominated by the majestic Mount Pico.

3. Day 3 Faial Half-Day Tour (Included)

   • Espalamaca & Panoramic Views: We begin with a scenic walk to Espalamaca, rewarded by breathtaking panoramic views of Horta city and the island's north side from the Miradouro da Nª Sra Conceição.
   • Journey Through Vale dos Flamengos: We continue our journey through the picturesque Vale dos Flamengos, a valley adorned with lush greenery.
   • Caldeira do Faial - A Volcanic Wonder: A stop at the awe-inspiring Caldeira do Faial, a massive volcanic crater, awaits. Marvel at its vast green-covered depression and the small lagoon nestled at its bottom.
   • Fajã Viewpoint & Capelo Charm: Descend to the northern part of the island, passing by vibrant green pastures and fields of hydrangeas. Take in the scenic views from the Fajã viewpoint before continuing to the charming parish of Capelo.
   • Volcano & Handicrafts: Immerse yourself in the volcanic history of Faial with a visit to the impressive Vulcão dos Capelinhos. Then, explore the School of Handicrafts in Capelo, known for its exquisite straw-embroidered tulle.
   • Grand Finale at Monte da Guia: Our final stop is at Monte da Guia, a volcanic cone with breathtaking views overlooking Horta City. This unique geological formation provides a fitting end to your Faial Island adventure.
4. Day 4 São Jorge Full-Day Tour (Included)

   

   Island Hopping Ease: The islands of the Azores Triangle are conveniently connected by short ferry rides, making island hopping a breeze. Today's adventure focuses on the captivating southern region of São Jorge (the Azores Triangle = Pico, Faial & São Jorge!)

   This full-day itinerary, with ferry tickets included, takes you on a scenic adventure, showcasing the stunning landscapes, rich history, and unique cultural treasures of this stunning island. 

   • Velas Panorama: Departing from Velas, we head south, stopping at the Miradouro das Velas. Capture breathtaking panoramic views of the charming town and the majestic Pico Island rising from the ocean.
   • Ribeira do Nabo's Crafts: Continue to Ribeira do Nabo, a village known for its beautiful handicrafts, particularly its exquisite woven artwork. Explore local shops and admire the skills of talented artisans.
   • Urzelina's Volcanic History: Travel to the seaside parish of Urzelina, where a powerful volcanic eruption reshaped the landscape in 1808. See the lone survivor – the tower of the old church – a stark reminder of nature's force.
   • Manadas & São Jorge Cheese: Following the scenic coastline with breathtaking views of Pico Island, we arrive at Manadas. Admire the parish's landmark, the Church of Santa Bárbara. For a taste of São Jorge, visit a cheese factory and learn about the production of the island's renowned cheese.

   • Parque das Sete Fontes: Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature at Parque das Sete Fontes in Rosais parish. Wander through this park, admiring the diverse flora, with a focus on the island's unique endemic plants.
   • Pico da Velha Panorama: Our final stop is Pico da Velha, a place where clear skies reward you with a spectacular view of the other central islands – Faial, Pico, and Graciosa.
   • Returning to Velas: After this exhilarating adventure, we journey back to Vila das Velas, where our tour concludes and you get back to Faial after a full-day of adventure.
5. Day 5 Pico Full-Day Tour (Included)

   • Lajes do Pico (Vila Baleeira): Continue to Lajes do Pico, also known as "Vila Baleeira" (Whaling Village). Explore this charming town, steeped in whaling history.

7. Day 7 Angra do Heroísmo City Walking Tour (Included)

However, the Terceirenses, known for their resilience, rose from the rubble and meticulously rebuilt their city. Today, Angra do Heroísmo stands as a symbol of hope and perseverance.

Today, embark on a journey through volcanic landscapes, serene lakes, and charming villages, and discover the essence of this enchanting island.

    • Sete Cidades (A Realm of Twin Lakes): Begin your adventure in Sete Cidades, a village nestled within a vast volcanic crater. As you descend into the caldera, prepare to be awestruck by the sight of Lagoa das Sete Cidades a mesmerizing twin-lake complex. One of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal, this show-stopping crater full of lakes has become one of the signature and most famous images of the Azores. There are (amazingly) 11 lakes in total around Sete Cidades, but they can only be seen from certain angles at the different miradouros (viewpoints) in the area. To fully appreciate the breathtaking panoramic views over the mystical blue and green lake, head to the Vista do Rei viewpoint. 
    • Lagoa do Fogo (A Crater Lake of Tranquility): Lagoa do Fogo, which translates roughly into "Lagoon of Fire", is a crater lake at the center of São Miguel Island. This Protected Natural Reserve sits tucked away atop the impressive Pico da Barrosa, far from the whir, hum, and hurry of civilization below. Lagoa do Fogo's crystal-clear turquoise waters are surrounded by tall mountain peaks, lush vegetation, and white sand on all sides. Take in the magnificent views at any of the viewpoints around the mountaintop, or if you're feeling adventurous, venture out on one of the many hiking trails that lead down to the lake's edge.

    But… A lot more is included in this adventure! Don't miss breathtaking viewpoints like Miradouro do Escalvado, Pico do Carvão, and Pedras Negras viewpoint, a refreshing escape at Santa Bárbara beach, and a fascinating visit to a traditional ceramics factory.

14. Day 14 Furnas Full-Day Tour (Included)

    

    The thermal hot spot of the Azores! Furnas Valley is the center of São Miguel's unique geothermal activity. Here you can visit two active volcanic sites to see the boiling caldeiras in action, as well as the gorgeous Terra Nostra Park, multiple hot spring pools for soaking and swimming, and the stunning Furnas Lake that's perfectly sized for an afternoon hike - and, if you time your visit to Furnas Lake just right, you might catch the locals taking their steaming hot Cozido stew out of the ground alongside the caldeiras! From thermal pools to mineral springs, calderas to culinary treats, and everything in between. Come explore the majestic and mysterious wonders of Furnas Valley in São Miguel. Here are some highlights of your tour:

    • Lagoa das Furnas: This beautiful crater lake is surrounded by the steep peaks of the ancient Furnas mountain and its lush, green rim. Visitors can enjoy several hiking trails around the lake, as well as several beautiful parks and the iconic Neo-Gothic Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Vitórias.
    • Cozido das Furnas Lunch: A longstanding tradition among the locals, this beloved popular dish is a Portuguese stew (cozido) cooked in holes known as fumaroles that are dug in the hot volcanic soil in Furnas. The stew is comprised of a carefully layered pot of pork, beef, chicken, sausages, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and kale that is cooked slowly in the ground for around 6 hours.
    • Caldeiras das Furnas: In the center of town, Furnas boasts close to 30 bubbling, steaming calderas and fumaroles of different temperatures and biological compositions, the strong smell of sulfur wafting through the air at every turn. Unsurprisingly, the locals have made the best of having these natural steam pots around. Temperatures range from 70ºC (158ºF)  to 100ºC (212ºF) which is perfect for cooking (but dangerous to get too close to!) 
    • Gorreana Tea Plantations: Nestled amidst the lush greenery of São Miguel Island in the Azores archipelago, the Gorreana Tea Plantations stand as a testament to the island's rich history and unique terroir. Established in 1883 by António Agostinho da Silva, Gorreana is the oldest tea plantation in Europe still in operation. A visit to Gorreana Tea Plantations is an immersive experience that unveils the secrets behind the production of world-renowned Azorean tea. Visitors can wander through the verdant tea fields, where rows of tea bushes stretch towards the horizon, basking in the gentle caress of the Atlantic breeze. 15. Day 15 São Miguel Island
