This package is designed for total freedom. It includes your return flights from London, hotel accommodation in Reykjavik, and a rental car for the duration of your stay. The package includes a hand-picked hotel in Reykjavik, serving as your base for the week. While the standard selection is centrally located to give you easy access to the city’s culture and dining, you can browse specific hotel options and upgrades during the booking process. Your rental car will be ready for collection at Keflavik International Airport as soon as you land.The package includes a standard vehicle, and you’ll return it to the airport before your flight home.

Driving in Iceland is a spectacular experience, but it requires attention. The main "Ring Road" and the Golden Circle routes are well-maintained and paved. However, weather conditions can change rapidly, and you should be prepared for wind or rain. Driving is on the right-hand side, and we recommend downloading the "SafeTravel" app for real-time road updates.

Reykjavik is a compact city. Most central hotels have nearby parking options, though some may charge a small daily fee. While exploring the city, there are several multi-storey car parks and designated zones. When you head out into the countryside to see waterfalls or geysers, parking at major natural attractions is usually plentiful and well-signposted.

This is a "fly-drive" holiday, meaning meals and specific tours are not pre-booked. This gives you the flexibility to chase the Northern Lights or visit the Blue Lagoon whenever the weather is best. British passport holders do not need a visa for short holidays in Iceland. However, your passport must be valid for at least three months after your departure date and be less than 10 years old. Please note that by late 2026, you may need to apply for a simple ETIAS online authorisation before you fly.

If the Northern Lights are on your bucket list, you should visit between September and March when the nights are longest and darkest. While the lights are a natural phenomenon and never guaranteed, having your own rental car gives you the best chance to drive away from city lights to find clear skies.
