Casa da Cisaltina
About the Accommodation
Casa da Cisaltina, built in the nineteenth century, is considered a country house and Cisaltina dreamt with it since she was a child.
Surrounded by nature, the house has a privileged view to Graminhais, one of the trails that leads to Pico da Vara, the highest mountain on the island. It is also at a 20 minutes distance from Furnas (volcanic zone) and Ribeira Quente (beach zone).
Casa da Cisaltina, inaugurated in March 2017, hás been restored in order to maintain a balance between its rustic spirit and modern comfort. It still maintains its rustic spirit but has all the modern accommodations. It has free wifi, AC, indoors and outdoors social spaces, a barbecue spot and a breakfast area encircled by the green so characteristic of São Miguel.
Intending to share the best of the Azorean culture, Casa da Cisaltina was conceived under the concept of the Azorean Homemade Teas, which is the guiding line of this project. Based in the geographic area of the Priolo habitat, we also introduce this endangered bird in the project, contributing to its appreciation.
One of our goals is also to share with our visitors the best local products, adding them in the breakfast or welcome basket. As our house is located in the countryside, we desire to create a fruitful interaction with the local population and consequently show to our visitors the local traditions and culture, thus providing the true Azorean Experience.
