Drinks, Wi-Fi, and shore excursions are not included. Breakfast at both hotels is not included by default.

The Mariner of the Seas departs from Lisbon on day 1 at 5:00 PM and arrives in Barcelona on day 10 at 5:00 AM. The route covers 6 ports across 3 countries: Porto (Leixões), Portugal (arrive 8:00 AM, depart 5:00 PM). At sea on day 3. Madeira (Funchal), Portugal (arrive 8:00 AM, depart 6:00 PM). At sea on day 5. Casablanca, Morocco (arrive 8:00 AM, depart 6:00 PM). Tangier, Morocco (arrive 7:00 AM, depart 6:00 PM). Malaga, Spain (arrive 8:00 AM, depart 6:00 PM). At sea on day 9. The ship arrives in Barcelona on day 10 at 5:00 AM.

Full board means breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included every day during the 9-night cruise. The Mariner of the Seas has multiple included dining venues including the Main Dining Room, Windjammer Café, and Café Promenade open 24 hours. Specialty restaurants including Chops Grille, Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Jamie's Italian by Jamie Oliver, and Johnny Rockets are available at an additional cost.

5-level theatre with original productions and live orchestra, ice skating rink, FlowRider surf simulator, rock climbing wall 40 feet above deck, The Perfect Storm waterslides, laser tag, and a Royal Promenade stretching the length of two football pitches with dining, entertainment, and shopping.

After booking, download the Royal Caribbean app, create an account and link your cruise with your Royal Caribbean reservation number. In the Cruise Planner you can buy drink packages, Wi-Fi, dining packages and shore excursions. Online purchases close about 3 days before sailing. After that, extras can only be bought on board, usually at higher prices.

We recommend checking in through the Royal Caribbean app. Online check-in opens 45 days before sailing and closes the day before. You will scan your passport, take a security photo, add an emergency contact and a card for onboard expenses, and choose your port arrival time. Arrival slots go fast, so check in early and pick a time that works with your hotel to port transfer. You then receive your SetSail Pass, your digital boarding pass. On boarding day, bring your original passport in your carry-on.

• Pro tip: if you pick one of the first slots, you can board around 10:30 AM. Cabins are usually ready between 1:00 and 2:00 PM and checked bags arrive later, so keep your medication, documents and swimsuit in your carry-on. Meanwhile, have lunch on board, enjoy the pool or explore the ship.

No. All shore excursions are optional and at additional cost. The Portugal Getaways team can recommend and arrange the right excursions at each port before you travel. You can also book independently at each port. Popular options include the historic center and wine caves of Porto, the botanical gardens and cable car of Funchal in Madeira, the Hassan II Mosque and medina of Casablanca, the Kasbah and medina of Tangier, and the Alcazaba fortress and old town of Malaga. Casablanca is Morocco's largest city and commercial capital. The Hassan II Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the world and one of the few open to non-Muslim visitors. The old medina and the Corniche waterfront are both worth the morning. Tangier is where Africa and Europe are 14 kilometers apart across the Strait of Gibraltar. The Kasbah, the medina, and the Caves of Hercules are the main draws. Morocco is a well-visited destination with a strong tourism infrastructure. Standard precautions apply in busy medina areas.

The package includes 1 night in Lisbon and 1 night in Barcelona, with a 4-star hotel and upgrade to 5-star available in both cities. The package price varies depending on the hotel selected. 

In Lisbon, options include 5-star properties near Avenida da Liberdade and in the Belém neighborhood, and well-located 4-star hotels in the historic center.

In Barcelona, all properties are centrally located in the Gothic Quarter, Barceloneta waterfront, or Eixample, within easy reach of the cruise port. Exact options are shown when you click a date in the booking calendar. Contact the Portugal Getaways team to discuss preferences before booking.

All transfers are included and arranged by the Portugal Getaways team. On arrival in Lisbon, a transfer takes you from Lisbon Airport to your hotel. On boarding day, a transfer takes you from your Lisbon hotel to the cruise port. On disembarkation day in Barcelona, a transfer takes you from the cruise port to your Barcelona hotel. On departure day, a transfer takes you from your Barcelona hotel to Barcelona Airport. You do not need to arrange any transport at either end.

No. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the Lisbon and Barcelona hotels.

US and Canadian passport holders do not need a visa for Portugal or Spain, both Schengen Area countries, for stays of up to 90 days. They also do not need a visa for Morocco for stays of up to 90 days. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for Schengen Area travel, is not yet mandatory but will apply to Portugal and Spain when it launches. Entry requirements are the traveler's responsibility and can change. For Morocco specifically, confirm the latest entry requirements before departure.

It confirms you have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 21 days before your flight. Download the form from the CDC website, fill it in, sign it and date it with your travel date. Passengers without a completed form may be denied boarding, so we recommend arriving at the airport with extra time. Requirements can change, so please check the CDC page before you travel.

Yes. Both cities reward extra time. The Portugal Getaways team can add nights in Lisbon before boarding or in Barcelona after disembarkation. If you are travelling solo, the package price is based on two travelers sharing a cabin and hotel room. A single supplement applies for both hotel nights and the cruise cabin.
