Algarve: Cultural Highlights Tour

The Portugal Getaways Algarve Cultural Highlights Tour package includes round-trip flights, 6 nights of hotel accommodation in the Albufeira area, airport transfers on arrival and departure, 3 included experiences (Lagos & Sagres half-day tour, Dolphins & Benagil Caves catamaran boat tour, and a Seville full-day sightseeing tour), and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Rental car, meals, and city taxes are not included.

• Lagos & Sagres Half-Day Tour, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Covers Ponta da Piedade cliffs and Cabo de São Vicente by coach and on foot. Pickup from Albufeira hotels is included. Lunch not included. 
• Dolphins & Benagil Caves Catamaran, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM or 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Dolphin watching followed by the Benagil sea caves by boat. Transfers from Albufeira hotels are included. 
• Seville Full-Day Tour, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Full day in Seville by coach. Pickup from Albufeira hotels is included.

The Benagil Cave is viewed from inside the catamaran as it passes through. Whether you can swim ashore or enter on foot depends on sea conditions and the tour operator's policy on the day. In calm conditions, some tours allow passengers to swim to the beach inside the cave. The guide will advise on the day. What is guaranteed is a close view of the cave from the water and the dramatic coastline around it.

Yes. If you prefer to drive yourself to Seville rather than take the coach, a rental car can be added to the package. Seville is approximately 2 hours from Albufeira by car via the A22 and Spanish motorways. Tolls apply on the Spanish side. Driving gives you more flexibility to spend time at your own pace and return when you choose. Contact the Portugal Getaways team when booking, and we will arrange the rental car and remove the included Seville tour from your itinerary if preferred.

The Lagos & Sagres tour involves walking on clifftop paths at Ponta da Piedade, which includes steps and uneven terrain. The Benagil catamaran tour requires boarding and disembarking a boat. The Seville tour involves significant walking through the city. None of the tours are classified as strenuous, but all require a basic level of mobility. If you have specific concerns, contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking, and we will confirm suitability or suggest alternatives.

All 3 tours are guided and include pickup and drop-off from the Albufeira hotels featured in this package. These are larger group tours: the Lagos & Sagres and Seville tours travel by coach, and the Benagil tour operates from a catamaran. If your hotel is not in the Albufeira area covered by the tour pickup, contact the Portugal Getaways team before booking, and we will confirm whether pickup can be arranged or advise on the nearest meeting point.

The tours in this package run in larger group formats, which is part of what makes them enjoyable. These are not private or small-group tours. If you prefer a private experience, contact the Portugal Getaways team, and we can arrange alternatives at an additional cost.

The package includes 4-star hotels in the Albufeira area, all close to the beach. 5-star options are available as upgrades. 4-star options include adults-only properties and beach hotels in the Falésia and São Rafael areas. Falésia beach is one of the longest in the Algarve, backed by ochre cliffs. The package price varies depending on the hotel selected. Exact options are shown when you click a date in the booking calendar.

Breakfast is not included by default but can be added during the booking process. If you would like to prioritize a property with complimentary breakfast before booking, contact the Portugal Getaways team in advance, and we will do our best to arrange it. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the hotel

Portugal is a safe and well-visited destination with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for Portugal for stays of up to 90 days. For the Seville day trip, Spain is also part of the Schengen Area and requires no visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory. When it becomes mandatory, the Portugal Getaways team will notify you in advance. 

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended.
