• Cozido das Furnas Lunch: A longstanding tradition among the locals, this beloved popular dish is a Portuguese stew (cozido) cooked in holes known as fumaroles that are dug in the hot volcanic soil in Furnas. 
• Caldeiras das Furnas: In the center of town, Furnas boasts close to 30 bubbling, steaming calderas and fumaroles of different temperatures and biological compositions, the strong smell of sulfur wafting through the air at every turn.

Suggestion for the day: Time to explore Lisbon's cultural highlights.

Start the day in Lisbon with a warm pastel de nata, the city’s iconic custard tart, lightly dusted with cinnamon. From there, explore Lisbon’s famous seven hills, where viewpoints offer wide-ranging views over the river and rooftops. A ride on one of the city’s classic yellow trams is an easy way to move between neighbourhoods, revealing Lisbon’s colourful streets along the way. In the afternoon, stroll along the waterfront in Belém and admire the impressive 16th-century architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower.

• Tram 28 is the most famous route and passes many highlights, but it can be very busy; choosing a less popular line offers a more comfortable ride.
• Consider purchasing a Lisboa Card for free or discounted entry to major attractions and unlimited use of public transport.

When your ship docks in Vigo, you are just about one hour away from Santiago de Compostela, one of Spain’s most famous historic cities.

• Many guests choose to visit the impressive Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, the final stop of the Camino pilgrimage. Spend time in the main square, wander the old stone streets, and enjoy a traditional Galician lunch before returning to the ship.

• If you prefer a relaxed day without traveling to Santiago, Vigo is easy and enjoyable to explore on foot. Start in the old town, known as Casco Vello, with its stone streets and small cafés. Then walk up to Castro Fortress for beautiful views over the harbor and the Atlantic. Stroll along the waterfront promenade, stop for fresh seafood, and try local Galician specialties like octopus or empanada. On clear days, you’ll even spot the Cíes Islands in the distance.
