1. Cumieira, "The Secret and Authentic Douro": a 10km (6.2mi) circular trail through steep mountain vineyards along the Corgo River. 
2. Samodães, "The Port Wine Route": an 8km (5mi) circular trail along the Douro's banks, passing rabelo boats and the century-old Douro Line train. 
3. Pinhão, "The Heart of the Douro": an 8km (5mi) circular trail through two award-winning Port wine quintas, ending at the Casal de Loivos Viewpoint.

 All three are private, led by a local guide for your group only, with transfers included.

The hikes are private to your booking, only the people traveling in your group take part, not combined with other travelers. Group size is limited to a maximum of 8. Contact the Portugal Getaways team if you're booking for a larger party.

No prior experience is required. Anyone comfortable walking for at least 3 hours can take part, and the pace is suitable for all fitness levels, adjusted throughout the hike as needed. Each route runs during the morning, roughly 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, leaving afternoons free. On day 2, the first hike starts later, around 10:30 AM, since the morning includes the transfer from Porto to the Douro.

In the Douro, you'll stay at a 4-star Rural Tourism Hotel, with breakfast included, the exact property may vary, but the category stays the same. In Porto, hotels are not always in the historic center, so some light walking or a short transfer may be needed. Porto's historic center is compact and walkable. The Ribeira District, a UNESCO World Heritage riverside old town, and Vila Nova de Gaia, across the river, home to most of the city's Port wine cellars, are both easy to reach on foot. D. Luís I Bridge offers panoramic views, and Livraria Lello is worth a stop for its carved wood interior. Beyond the historic center, the Mercado do Bolhão, Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, and Serralves Museum & Gardens are all within reach. This time is unstructured, so it's entirely up to you how to spend it.

Breakfast is included both in Porto and in Douro.
