The Portugal Getaways Porto & Lisbon Cultural Highlights Tour includes round-trip flights, 7 nights of hotel accommodation (3 Porto, 4 Lisbon), airport transfers, a train ticket from Porto to Lisbon with transfers between hotels and stations, 5 guided experiences and all taxes and fees related to the booking. The experiences are a full-day Douro Valley tour, a Port wine tasting at the Burmester cellars, a Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais tour, a Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos tour, and a fado dinner in Alfama. Other meals and city taxes are not included.

Confirm what is included and add luggage during the booking process. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

Five experiences are included at no extra cost:

• Douro Valley Full-Day Tour: 9 AM to 6 PM, with two vineyards, a river cruise and lunch at a winery. Small group of up to 8 travelers. Meeting point at Largo da Lapa 1, Porto (hotel pick-up is not included).
• Burmester Cellars Classic Visit: 45 minutes, a guided visit and a tasting of two Port wines (one white, one red). Meeting point at Largo Dom Luís I, Vila Nova de Gaia. Groups of up to 35 travelers.
• Sintra, Cabo da Roca & Cascais Tour: 9 AM to 5 PM, with hotel pick-up and drop-off in Lisbon city center. Small group of up to 8 travelers.
• Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos Tour: 9 AM to 6 PM, with hotel pick-up and drop-off in Lisbon city center. Small group of up to 8 travelers.
• Fado Show with Dinner in Alfama: from 8 PM, meeting point at Páteo de Alfama, Rua de São João da Praça 18.

On day 4, a private transfer takes you from your Porto hotel to Porto Campanhã station. The train to Lisbon takes about 3 hours 35 minutes, and a transfer from the Lisbon station to your hotel is included. The tickets are booked in the highest available class. The name of this class varies depending on the train operator and specific service. If it is not available on your specific service, the Portugal Getaways team will present alternatives before confirming your booking.

Lunch is included on the Douro Valley tour day, served at a winery in the wine region. The fado dinner in Lisbon's Alfama neighborhood includes a starter, main course, dessert, two drinks, and coffee. Breakfast depends on the hotel rate selected at booking, but hotels with complimentary breakfast can be prioritized. All other meals are not included.

Hotels are 4-star properties located across several areas within the tourist zones of Porto and Lisbon. Most are well-placed for sightseeing, but depending on your specific property, a short walk to the city centre or main attractions may be needed. In Porto, hotels are spread across the historic area near the Ribeira waterfront and Avenida dos Aliados. In Lisbon, properties are distributed across central neighborhoods convenient for the included tours. Upgrades and specific location preferences can be arranged by contacting the Portugal Getaways team. The package price varies depending on the hotel selected.

City taxes are not included in the package price and are paid directly at each hotel. The amounts are set by each city and may change without notice.

Portugal is consistently ranked among the safest countries in Europe, with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere. Standard precautions apply in busy tourist areas. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS is not yet mandatory; when it becomes mandatory, the Portugal Getaways team will notify you in advance.

Porto and Lisbon are great year-round destinations. Spring (April through June) offers mild weather, blooming landscapes, and fewer crowds, making it ideal for walking tours and day trips to Sintra and the Douro Valley. Autumn brings warm temperatures and the Douro harvest season. Summer is the busiest and most expensive period. Winter is quieter and more affordable, with both cities still lively and full of character.

Popular add-ons include city walking tours, cooking classes, bike tours, river cruises, and day trips to destinations like Aveiro, Guimarães, or the Alentejo wine region. Yes. Extra nights in Porto or Lisbon can be added, and the itinerary can be adjusted to your dates and preferences. If you are travelling solo, the package price is based on two travelers sharing a room and a single supplement applies. The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended.
