• Sintra Full-Day Tour (day 2, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM): Explore Sintra, visit Quinta da Regaleira with ticket and guided visit included, discover Pena Park, stop at Cabo da Roca and enjoy free time in Cascais. Hotel pickup is not included. Meeting point: Praça da Figueira, in front of the statue, Lisbon. Drop-off at Marquês de Pombal. Pena Palace ticket and lunch are not included.
• Évora & Monsaraz Full-Day Tour with Wine Tasting (day 3, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM): Guided visit to Évora, including the Chapel of Bones, free time in the historic center, and an afternoon visit to the medieval village of Monsaraz followed by a regional Alentejo wine tasting. Hotel pickup is not included. Meeting point: Praça da Figueira, in front of the statue, Lisbon. Drop-off at Marquês de Pombal. Lunch is not included.
• Porto & Gaia City Tour, Wine Cellar & Six Bridges Cruise (day 6, 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM; other starting times may be available): Explore Porto and Gaia by tourist train, visit the Real Companhia Velha Port wine cellar, taste 2 Port wines, and enjoy a cruise beneath Porto's famous six bridges. Hotel pickup is not included. Meeting point: Rua de Saraiva de Carvalho, 4000-052, Porto. Lunch is not included.
• Douro Valley Full-Day Wine Tour (day 7, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM): Visit two vineyards with wine tastings, enjoy a 1-hour Douro River cruise, and have lunch at a winery. Hotel pickup is not included. Meeting point: Largo da Lapa 1, Porto. Small groups of up to 8 people.
• Santana Full-Day Tour (day 9, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM): Discover Camacha, Pico do Areeiro, Ribeiro Frio and Madeira's Laurissilva forest before continuing to Santana and the island's east coast. Hotel pickup is included. Lunch is not included.
• Whale Watching Half-Day Tour (day 10, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM): Set out from Funchal in search of dolphins, whales, turtles and seabirds, with the possibility of swimming near Cabo Girão when weather conditions permit. Hotel pickup is not included. Meeting point: Marina do Funchal 09, 9000-055, Funchal. Check-in requirements should be confirmed before departure.

The package includes train travel from Lisbon to Porto, with the journey taking approximately 3 hours. The train connects the two mainland destinations without the need to rent a car or drive.

The tickets are booked in the highest available class. The name of this class varies depending on the train operator and specific service. If it is not available on your specific service, the Portugal Getaways team will present alternatives before confirming your booking.

No rental car is required. The itinerary is designed around included flights, train travel, transfers and guided experiences, making it easy to explore Lisbon, Porto and Madeira without driving.

Transfers are included as part of the package, including airport transfers on arrival and departure, as well as the transfers connecting the different stages of your itinerary.

For individual experiences, pickup arrangements vary by tour. The Sintra, Évora & Monsaraz, Porto City Tour and Whale Watching experiences have designated meeting points, while the Douro Valley and Santana tours include hotel pickup, subject to the conditions specified for each experience.

Yes, daily breakfast is included throughout your stay in Lisbon, Porto and Madeira.

Depending on the hotel and room type selected, you may also have the option to upgrade to Half Board, while some properties offer All Inclusive. These meal plans are available at an additional cost and vary by hotel.

Outside your selected hotel meal plan, meals are generally not included. The main exception among the included experiences is the Douro Valley Full-Day Tour, which includes lunch at a winery.

The included experiences range from light to moderate activity levels and are suitable for most travelers with a reasonable level of mobility. The Sintra and Évora tours involve walking through historic areas, including cobblestone streets and some uneven terrain.

The Madeira experiences include scenic mountain and forest areas, including Pico do Areeiro, Ribeiro Frio and the Laurissilva forest, where some walking and changes in elevation are involved. The whale-watching experience takes place on a boat and may be affected by sea conditions.

Summer brings warmer weather and longer days, making it a popular time to explore both mainland Portugal and Madeira. Winter is generally mild, particularly in Madeira, and can be a good option for travelers looking to explore Portugal's cities with fewer crowds.

Because this itinerary combines city sightseeing, wine experiences, mountain landscapes and whale watching, the best time ultimately depends on the type of activities you enjoy most.

Portugal is consistently ranked as one of the safest countries in Europe, with no active conflicts and not affected by the current conflicts in Europe or elsewhere.
