   Welcome to the Algarve! Begin your adventure by picking up your car rental, and set out on a scenic drive towards Cordoba in Spain, covering 346 kilometers (215 miles) in just over 3 hours and 30 minutes.

   Once in Córdoba, here is our suggestion for the day:

   • Enjoy a leisurely Spanish lunch at a local restaurant. Be sure to try some traditional Andalucian dishes like salmorejo, a cold tomato soup, and flamenquín, a tasty ham and cheese wrapped in pork.
   • Visit the iconic Mezquita-Catedral, an architectural marvel that blends Islamic and Christian influences. Explore the stunning horseshoe arches and serene courtyard of the mosque.
2. Day 2Córdoba, Spain

   

   Suggestion for the day: Córdoba's Enchantment

   • Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos: Begin your day at the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, a majestic fortress and former royal palace brimming with centuries of history. Explore its magnificent gardens, where vibrant flowers and flowing fountains create a serene atmosphere. Don’t miss the ancient Roman mosaics and historic towers that offer a glimpse into the palace's layered past, from Roman to Moorish and Christian influences.
   • Palacio de Viana: In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Palacio de Viana’s gardens, a hidden gem filled with beauty. Wander through 12 distinct courtyards, each offering a unique display of colorful flowers, lush plants, and peaceful fountains. These serene spaces create an idyllic retreat, where every corner is a new discovery of fragrant blooms and artistic landscaping.
   • Roman Bridge: As evening falls, take a leisurely stroll along this centuries-old bridge, a timeless landmark beautifully illuminated after dark. With the shimmering lights reflecting off the Guadalquivir River, this historic bridge provides a breathtaking view of the city, blending Córdoba’s ancient heritage with a magical nighttime ambiance.
3. Day 3Drive to Málaga, Spain

   

   Check out from Córdoba and set off on a scenic 2-hour drive to Málaga, your gateway to the sun-soaked Costa del Sol, covering approximately 168 kilometers (about 104 miles).

   Here's our suggestion once you arrive in Málaga:

   • Alacabaza: We recommend starting your day with a visit to the Alcazaba, an impressive Moorish fortress renowned for its stunning architecture and breathtaking panoramic views of the city and coastline. Explore its well-preserved walls, lush gardens, and historical features that reflect centuries of rich history.
   • Calle Larios: Next, stroll along Málaga’s iconic pedestrian street lined with a variety of shops, boutiques, and charming cafés. Here, you can soak in the lively atmosphere and perhaps stop for a refreshing drink or a delicious tapa. Make your way to the Plaza de la Constitución, the heart of the city, where you can experience the vibrant spirit of Málaga surrounded by lively street performers and local vendors.
4. Day 4Málaga, Spain

   

   Suggestion for the day: Málaga's Charm

   • Ronda: Embark on a scenic drive to the enchanting town of Ronda, renowned for its dramatic cliffs and stunning views. Explore the historic bullring, one of the oldest in Spain, and marvel at the iconic Puente Nuevo bridge, which offers breathtaking views of the gorge below.
   • Mijas/Frigiliana: Next, immerse yourself in the charm of the region's famous white villages, or "pueblos blancos." Consider visiting Mijas, with its cobblestone streets lined with vibrant flower pots and breathtaking coastal views, or Frigiliana, known for its well-preserved Moorish architecture and stunning hillside setting. Take your time wandering through narrow alleys, discovering local artisan shops, and perhaps indulging in some traditional tapas.

   After a delightful day of exploration, return to Málaga for a stroll along the golden sands of Malagueta Beach. As the sun sets, savor a delicious seafood dinner at a beachfront restaurant, where you can enjoy fresh local dishes while listening to the gentle waves lapping at the shore.

5. Day 5Drive to Seville, Spain

   

   Depart from Malaga and embark on a 2-hour and 30-minute drive covering approximately 210 kilometers (about 130 miles) to Seville, where you'll enjoy a 3-night stay.

   Once in Seville, here is our suggestion for the day:

   • Seville Cathedral: Start your day by exploring the magnificent Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. Marvel at its intricate architecture, which features stunning stained glass windows and an impressive altar. Be sure to visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus, a highlight of the cathedral. For an unforgettable experience, climb the Giralda Tower, a former minaret that offers panoramic views of the city and the stunning landscape beyond.
   • Triana: Afterward, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Triana neighborhood, renowned for its rich cultural heritage. Stroll along the lively streets, where you’ll find an array of bustling tapas bars offering delicious local specialties like salmorejo and fried fish. 
6. Day 6Seville, Spain

   

   Suggestion for the day: The Passion of Seville

   • Alcázar of Seville: Step into a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning blend of Moorish and Renaissance architecture. Wander through its lavish rooms and serene gardens, where intricate tilework, ornate arches, and tranquil fountains transport you to another era.
   • Plaza de España: Visit this grand semicircular square that dazzles with its colorful azulejos (ceramic tiles), elegant bridges spanning a picturesque canal, and a majestic central fountain—one of Seville's most photogenic spots.
   • Passionate Flamenco Show: Complete your day in the best way possible by witnessing an authentic flamenco performance at one of Seville’s famed tablaos. Feel the passion and intensity of this traditional art form as dancers, singers, and musicians captivate you with their soulful rhythms and powerful expressions.

    

7. Day 7Seville, Spain

   • Barrio Santa Cruz: Next, explore the winding streets of Santa Cruz, Seville’s historic Jewish quarter. 8. Day 8Drive to the Algarve, Portugal

   

   The drive from Seville to the Algarve will take approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, covering around 200 kilometers (approximately 124 miles).

   • El Rocío: From Seville, embark on a scenic journey southward, winding through the picturesque landscapes of southern Spain. Stop at the enchanting town of El Rocío, famous for its unique marshlands and vibrant pilgrimage traditions. Take a moment to explore its charming streets, adorned with whitewashed buildings and colorful flower pots.
   • Huelva: Continuing your journey, we suggest stopping at the historic city of Huelva, where you can briefly explore its rich maritime history and notable landmarks, such as the Cathedral of La Merced and the scenic waterfront.
