Lagos

Day trips further afield

With an early start, you can go beyond the Algarve for the day:

• Seville, Spain: about 2 to 2.5 hours east across the border, for a taste of Andalusia, the cathedral and the old town. Note Spain is one hour ahead.
• Lisbon: around 2.5 to 3 hours north, a long but doable day for Portugal's capital, better as an overnight if you can.
• Évora: about 2 hours into the Alentejo, a UNESCO-listed town with a Roman temple and a chapel of bones.
